There are no hard and fast rules when it comes to applying long lasting lipstick, women usually have their own routines of application. Here at Long Lasting Lipstick our beauty experts have got together to highlight some of the main tips and tricks for applying lipstick. We hope you find this information useful and enjoy reading it as much as we have enjoyed experimenting with all kinds of long lasting lipstick to give our readers a varied review.

1. How to apply long lasting lipstick
Some ladies prefer to apply lipstick using their fingers which they dab on the end of the lipstick and then run their fingers over their lips. Others prefer to use a lipstick brush to apply their lipstick, and of course the most popular form of application is to apply your long lasting lipstick straight from the tube. Our experts agree that as long as you get the colour onto your lips whichever method you find easiest is just fine. Personally we prefer to apply our long lipstick lipstick straight from the tube.

2. Decide which areas you would like to emphasise
If you have decided to go for a bold shade around the eyes it is best to keep to a nude colour on the lips or you could be in danger of looking clown like. Likewise if you decide to apply a bold, deep colour on the lips keep the rest of your makeup subtle. Personally I love the English rose look, red blushed cheeks with subtle pinks over the eyes and red lips.

3. Lip Liner with Long Lasting Lipstick
To create a plump look on your lips it is best to apply lip liner just above the natural line of your lips, and a gloss on your bottom lip. You should never use a darker lip liner then the shade of the lipstick as you will not create the desired look. It is entirely up to you whether you apply lip liner before you apply your long lasting lipstick, or vice versa - Some of our experts prefer to apply the lip liner first as they argue that they can see their natural lip line much easier before lipstick is applied.

4. Stop long lasting lipstick transfering onto your glass
Lipstick coming off onto a glass when drinking is a common niggle when it comes to lipstick. One tip to ensure that your long lasting lipstick remains long lasting on your lips, discretely run your tongue over your lips before drinking, this will ensure that your lipstick stays looking beautiful on your lips.

5. Use long lasting lipstick as a blusher
You can apply lipstick lightly over your cheeks to act as a blusher, this not only saves you money but it also completes the look providing warm, glowing colours.
